Modo is a great 3D modelling program, which makes creating whatever you want easy and efficient. I am going to show you how to model a car from start to finish. While I realize there are many ways to do this, I came up with a workflow specifically for cars, as I found some of the other methods difficult/confusing at best. The workflow, I have here should get the novice making cars pretty quickly.

  • Yeah, Maya is a good program. Again, I like the shortcuts and tools in Modo and it seems more intuitive. Just seemed way easier to learn for me. I do however, go to C4D a lot still. Mostly I will model in Modo and export to C4D for scenes, animations, etc. Mainly because I already know how to do somethings in there so why take the time to learn in modo. Things like camera matching for CGI is so easy in C4D. Modo just came out with a physics tool too, which is nice!
