From "Shake, Rattle and Roll" on tv in 1988. Darlene sings "Da Doo Ron Ron", "He's A Rebel", and "He's Sure the Boy I Love". One of the best voices ever!

  • Saw her about 17-18 years ago at the Bottom Line in NY. Small nightclub setting. She was awesome. She also re-recorded her hits around that time on vinyl. Wish they would release it on CD. Her voice was much more mature and the songs were a lot more up tempo.

  • I have an LP she did in 1985. She did a number of her old songs Live at Hop Singh's in Marina Del Ray, California. Don't know if this is the LP you mean. When I get time, I will convert that to mp3 and upload them to YouTube, if they are not already out there somewhere.

  • oooohhhh =)) this is so lovely.

darlene love is the BEST. how wonderful that she gets credits for these three hits - finally!

thank you very very much for this fab video.

    cheers

  • You're welcome. What a voice, huh? I saw her on Broadway in the production of "Leader of the Pack" a number of years ago --- just great! Hope you also found my other posting of her, as I mentioned under the comment below.

  • You are welcome, Russ. Darlene is great! Did you also see the one I posted with Darlene where she is singing "Christmas (Baby, Please Come Home)" on David Letterman's show a number of years ago?

  • I saw Darlene at an out door concert in Minneapolis around 1997. I sang along with her and she was surprised that I knew the songs. I had just finished reading her autobiography. An amazing story.
