  • @northernfog69 Yes, you were/are a lot closer (in regard to distance) to those nuclear weapons, than those of us in North America. However, with ICBM's and submarine launched IRBM's, ALL of the WORLD is within minutes of that destruction. Geographical position has absolutely no baring on the nuclear question, other than how many missle/bombs to use.

  • @SuperBunkerbuster

Je suis au Canada maintenant oui ! - J'ai aussi grandi dans le sud de la France !

  • @northernfog69 But you are, in Canada, under the protection of the US NORAD System.

Unfortunatly you have to trust the americans for your safeness ; but we use to have a very dangerous location : just between the two superpowers during the cold war and Western Europe would have been the main battlefield in case of a 3rd world war.

  • @Fridomfry yeah, that's the power of mutually assured destruction: no one fucks with each other anymore

  • @xsara123, Right, the French are peace-loving. They were attacked by Germany in 1914 (1.5 million French soldiers killed), again by Germany and Italy in 1940 (500,000 French killed), then threatened by the Soviet block from 1947. They decided to build a nuclear deterrence, so that "never again" someone starts a war against France. Peace has a price.
