amfa is a p.o.s union. I had them when I worked at alaska air. AMFA didn't even stand up for their workers. And they told everyone about a monthe before we lost our jobs in oakland how well we were doing

the strike was happened to late, NWA already had replacements trained and ready to step in. NWA's plan was smart, the strike was ill-fated. entertaining tho.

Yeah because they had a union representing them!!! The company I worked for didnt and I did a job they used to do for only a fraction! They thought they were gonna shut down the airline but their plan back fired and that was all their fault!! Even during the strike guys from their union were crossing the picket line in herds to come back to work!! They all took a gamble and lost and it was their own fault! They should have made concessions and maybe AMFA would still be around DTW but no

Those mechanics thought they were the only ones who put blood sweat and tears into their jobs. Hundreds of people who make not even half of what they did worked just as hard and didnt have a union to represent them. I dont feel sorry for them. The economy was bad back then and they all thought Northwest would bow down to them. You treat the rampers like shit and expect them to come follow you. Ha, you all took the risk and lost.

NWA mechanics were the unsung heroes of aviation safety. AMFA tried so hard to raise them up; but the baggage handlers didn't support them and pushed airplanes off the gates. Then Steenland/Showers wanted all the money, and would not give them even 35 dollars and hour, although plumbers get 42, and don't risk peoples lives in crashes, except for backed up plumbing. Big deal. The AMFA mechanics were a BARGAIN at 35 and hour.
