TR Anniversary : Midas' Palace - Rubble Room shortcut

There's a nice little shortcut to bypass the whole "rubble room" (the one you create by toppling the big column).

Upon wreaking havoc in the basement, just return to the room, immediately turn to the right, jump quite precisely from the right slope... and you're on a platform about four jumps away from the exit. Using this should bring the time required to complete this room down to about 20 seconds or so...

Note that this is NOT a glitch - Lara lands on a narrow but definitely visible and accessible ledge, from which she climbs onto the crumbled platform.

Should be useful for those time trials... :)

I have done this a hundred times and she just always slides back down!

From the sandslide or from the column? On the sandslide you just have to jump forward just before you start sliding down, and time your jump back as soon as Lara starts sliding (as far as I can remember it, anyway). Hope you make it :)

nice shortcut! but i still think the left roll way is much faster since u directly end up in front of the gate...

or is this whole left roll stuff cheating in your oppinion?

Yes, nice and useful cheating, but cheating nonetheless. I wouldn't use either left rolls or "invisible ledges" (like the one on the front gate of the sphinx, used for passing Sanctuary of the Scion in 2 minutes) in any "official" time trials, anyway.

Reaching that ledge I found only involves finding it - it's there, just hard to see. Hence, my shortcut is for those who might consider rolls a glitch.

However, unending kudos to you for finding so many rollable/glitchable shortcuts :)

@sinuspi WHAT?IT'S NOT CHEATING!Why would you say that?Lara has many abilities.And TR games always had multiple paths until crystal dynamics started making them.So it's not cheating.They accidentlay made the game look realistic and they accidentaly made Lara be able to do more that what she's programmed to.>_>

If I feel something belongs in the second category, I consider it a cheat. Many of Lara's moves were redesigned not to look/act overpowered and bring her physical abilities closer to an actual human's - her left/right rolls, however, still have that ridiculously high sideways salto that I'd think required a nerf as well.

Again - not that there's anything at all wrong with cheats :P
