The immense contribution to literature and broadcasting made by Welsh author Gwyn Thomas is remembered here by writer Alan Plater, broadcaster Dai Smith and actor Anthony Hopkins, who brillianty portrayed Gwyn in the BBC TV movie "Selected Exits". In addition, this clip features extracts from Gwyn's work and interviews with the man himself.
I remember coming back to my small apt in Bklyn and turning on Ch. 13 just as Selected Exits aired. I'd never heard of Gwyn Thomas. I had moved to New York with a typewriter and a girl yrs previous but had got sucked into its many distractions, such as subsistence and rent-paying. Gwyn's life and words was like splashing my face with cold water. I dusted off the typewriter and threshed my way back into that life. Thanks for posting all this G.T. footage. It's a great thing you've done.
