They just made the game less creepy...
better fighting controlles: Action is the opposite of horror. The more fights you have in a game, the less creepy it is.
Moving camera: a none-movebal camera ist more creepy, since you can't see what's in the room...
Desision-making-tree in conversations: An importan part in all the Silent-Hill-Games was always being alone. More dialogs meens more other interaction with other characters, meens less feeling of lonelinsss.

though this one is kinda not good... aside from konami, other company joined to make this game... I havn't played silent hill 2, if its like a novel... it'll be great.. i've heard so many fans of sh that its the greatest game of all series... sh 1... havn't played it too... soon

@Ecko50100 If this were a month ago I'd say you're wrong but I've been replaying SH2 and there's an article in there about Walter Sullivan (antagonist from SH4) and he mentions a punisher along with some other telling details that may be describing Pyramid Head so who knows.

the only Silent hill I disliked was (Well actually 2 of them) SH: The room. and Shattered memories.

No it hasn't.....The only one that sucked was SH:The room for obvious reasons. Oh and Shattered memories sucked also.

i don't know why everyone gives slent hill 4 such a hard time ! i played it an thought it was brilliant - love silent hill an can't wait for number 5 !
