No Se Vende is a video/documentary created by youth from our video class at Ana Roque de Duprey Elementary School. In this piece you hear residents of the Humboldt Park neighborhood in Chicago explain what gentrification is and how the Puerto Rican community is responding to it.
Gentrification is not easy to stop. Money talks. When the developers want to market an area, that's exactly what they do. Look at Wicker Park as an example. I can't think of any community that has ever been able to stop gentrification from happening once it gains a foothold.

The youth that worked on this video were both inspiring and hardworking. Hopefully many of them will become great filmmakers from our community.
Nonetheless, it is disappointing that no one from the actual ¡Humboldt Park NO SE VENDE! campaign were placed in the final version of this documentary. Despite the name given to this film and images of the campaign's posters, it would be great to actually have seen someone working actively on the issue of gentrification and housing.
