@hankedful I would like to correct myself, the lead singer on Drifters Please Stay was Rudy Lewis.

Great song, all versions I've heard seem to be well done, this included. Hats off to the Drifters [Ben E King] the group who first recorded this.
-
I love this song, simple but beautiful. I hope music evolves back to this.

Duffy+AMy winehouse+ Adele have very similar beautiful tones! I wish amy was still alive and i would love to hear them do a collab :D

I cry every time I hear this version. The Cryin' Shames version was produced by Joe Meek, It was his last piece before his death.
The play this version in the credits of Telstar: The Joe Meek story.

must say i like westlife's version better but it's still good

about time this
crying shames single got recognition

@IxXSentinelaXxI the drifters song was tighter. more background help and studio control. duffy has that quality that just makes you listen. she handles the old songs so well, i wish she would cut an cd of just old 60's songs. i would buy that in a minute.

also sung by the Cryin' Shames back in March 1966. My Uncle was the drummer on the single.
