The tune is "Kasapsko Oro", a Macedonian dance tune that I got from Cathy Moore - check out her website at banjomeetsworld. Banjo tuned in Dbl-C (gCGCD), turned down a whole step lower.

That's great tune, and the three styles really show their uniqueness because of its melodic quality. The Clawhammer is much more rhythmical. Oh by the way, excellent drop-thumb! how long have you been playing?
Thanks! I've been playing for about a year and a half now (mostly CH, I'm just beginning to use the others old-time styles) CH can be pretty melodic too (when skipping the brush for example). I personnaly find the Seeger strum more rythmical - I tend to use it for songs, as a backup when singing (well, a la Seeger :-)), and to use CH for "fiddle tunes"
Thats a fine comparison of those styles. Very cool. Its wierd. Before I learned clawhammer, those up picking styles would have looked normal to me, and the clawhammer would have looked strange. Now Its the other way around.
