Agile high efficiency brushless motor controller demonstration. Specifically designed for Quadrotor helicopter use but could potentially be applied to conventional RC aircraft with a few modifications.

  • hey, very impressive! i have a question, are you using a dsp for the sensorless position detection or how else can you get these high rpm?

  • @istdochwurschtoder Yes DSP is used. The motor also has a low pole count motor (4 poles). Sensorless position detection via ADC sampling of back EMF.

  • Awesome! Nice job! Did you make it yourself?

  • Thanks, it's a custom fast response controller we have specifically designed for quadrotor helicopter applications. The video just shows it running a much smaller motor/prop than normal because it sounds better than the previous video.....though it could be fun to attach to a fixed wing like a small Speedwing.
