  • @Loudmouf84 in fact, i'm pretty sure the league would have benefited way more by a kings win that otherwise. first, it would've created a bigger sac-lal rivalry, as the dominance in cali by the lakers would've been broken. rivalry = big money. second, opening a new and fresh market that creates new money is better than an already famous and bailed out franchise. kings gaining worldwide recognition has way more financial potential than the lakers. imo the whole league hoped for kings.

  • @Loudmouf84 they would have deserved a title, no doubt. bibby, divac, peja, hedo, webber and the way they played (esp. webber) was sick. but even after controversial game 6, they had everything in their hands at home in g7 (i didn't mean that refs helped them there) and didn't bring it at the time they needed to the most. refs always tend to whistle in favor of superstars (in any sport), but i don't see how a lakers win influenced the league's finances more than a kings win. explain.

  • @staxstix Kings woulda smacked all those teams you're talking about, and the refs didnt help the Kings in game 5 or 7. Kings woulda won that series in 5 games if not for how the refs officiated game 4 as well. And I'm not being biased. The league wanted the Lakers to win. Lakers were bringing the NBA more money than any other team. Lakers = Huge market. Kings are definition of small market.

  • @Loudmouf84 game 6, yes. refs helped kings at game 5, though, and at home at game 7, they could've done it but they blew it. own fault. greatest team ever to not win a championship? what about all the years of utah jazz dominating the league if the bulls had not been there? maybe for the last decade you're right. but even there you have strong contenders: blazers 2000, mavs 2007, cavs 2009, lakers 2004 with payton bryant malone shaq,...
