You just got to know what stings and frets to hit when a string breaks. It still requires some thinking though if you are used to playing on that string. I can't keep a high E string on my guitar. The last one lasted me a month though and that's a new record.

Switching necks really isn't hard, it is pretty amazing how he improvs without that string though

i got this on dvd. u should see the stairway to haven on this one fucking insane he switches from his 12 string right to his six string as soon as he hits the solo thats hard and when he was on his solo i caught when the string popped and its hard to improvise that well when ur on a solo that crazy
