Your first clue that this 1937 Ford coupe is something special is expressed in one the awards this car has won: the PPG "Outstanding Use of Color" award from the 2010 Street Rod Nationals in York, PA. The burnt orange metallic over black paint scheme is both contemporary and timeless, and the quality will have people examining this car for hours, marveling at the attention to detail. Getting the proportions correct while still giving the car an aggressive rake and silhouette is no easy task, and finishing it to show car levels such as this takes true talent. The sophisticated 2-tone look was achieved by using the body's original lines as a break point, with a silver stripe dividing the black and burnt orange.

Nestled into the engine bay is a 383 Chevy with a Weiand blower making 450 horsepower. It is dressed up with a polished aluminum intake and valve covers, along with chrome accessories. Trick hood hinges allow the hood to tilt forward and hold the hood in place above the bodywork. The transmission is a 3-speed automatic feeding a Ford 9-inch rear. The front suspension is independent, while an Air Ride suspension system holds up all four corners. Brakes are discs by Baer and rolling stock consists of Billet Specialties wheels wearing 18-inch front and 20-inch rear BFGoodrich radials.

With an adjustable, custom-crafted seat covered in supple black and gray leather, there's a surprising amount of space inside. Everything is new, from the carpets to the custom headliner. Vintage Air handles the climate control, and the stereo system is powerful, with speakers scattered throughout the passenger compartment. In back, the trunk has been upholstered to match.

With big power from a reliable powertrain and a handcrafted interior, this is a car you can easily drive cross-country. This one is turn-key and ready to rumble today for a fraction of the build cost. Why wouldn't you call?

  • how are you gonna go and put a chevy engine in a Ford thats just messed up

  • Amazing ! ! ! -- Thanks !

  • Wow, you can't take that for a drive. I'd be afraid a stone or something would add a single chip to that perfect skin.

  • From time to time i get myself looking back at this video to admire the job done in the roof chop! A really well chopped car!

  • Beautiful car, great build, but why not put a Ford engine in a Ford car? There are some great Ford crate motors on the market that would be perfect. JMHO
