This is a video of me playing the Apogee Software MS-DOS game Raptor: Call of the Shadows on Elite difficulty using the exact same loadout that is used by the computer in Demo Mode. The computer's loadout consists of the following:
1 MG21C Reaver Twin Machine Guns
100 Shields
1 Ion Scanner
1 CBU-80 Guillotine Megabomb
1 AIM-31 Mauler Air/Air Missile
1 Micro Missile
1 TH19 Thor Auto-Track Mini Gun
1 OD55 Odin Laser Turret
1 MSIL-ATLAS Deathray
This is the original file as recorded by me in DOSBox v0.72 on Mac OS X 10.5.6 and is used to test if the recording can be uploaded onto YouTube without any modifications or re-sampling whatsoever.
When I first started playing Raptor many years ago, this was the very first level that killed me. Back then, I managed to get right up to the end boss, where I got splashed by all his guns. In TRAINING MODE. Hence, this level will always serve as a reminder to NOT attack something larger than me head-on. The music is pretty cute too, even if it is only a 33-second loop.
you got mad skills bro
ive never gotten that far in the game, but do you think that having the auto tracking weapons helps you with evasive moves, since you dont have to aim as hard?

@carmatic
Thanks.
The auto-tracking weapons certainly help. The Auto-Track Minigun works fine against slower ships and attacking ground targets, but for faster vessels, you will want to use the Laser Turret. Notice that, while using the Minigun, I have to stay quite close to the enemy ships in order to hit them with it, whereas with the Laser Turret, I don't.
In Outer Regions, none of them are an option as they don't do enough damage to the ships in that sector.
