Standard Tele size "Stratty" sounding pickup in a Fender Telecaster into Peavey Classic 20, no effects, low gain & volume. From 0:56 to 1:25 you can hear both the neck and the bridge (Fender Alnico V) p/ups together. http://harmonicdesign.net/allpages/teles.html

  • Cool tone..... in a hot way (if yah know what I mean). Is it custom wound or one of Scott's standard windings.....

  • @MrThermionik Thank you :) This is a standard "mini-strat" pup. Btw, I guess if you give it extra 1K or so, the pup might sound even hotter (in a cool way) :)

  • Got to turn off the tak-mic when doing these demos. I love the sound of the strings being picked up acoustically (a great old studio trick) but it's not allowing us to hear what the pickup really sounds like. BTW, you are a brilliant player.

  • @ROCKSTARCRANE

Thank you for the good words and especially thank you very much for the constructive criticism. Yes, you're right - that mic was off during the recording and I agree, the room sound doesn't provide a very clear picture of the p/up characteristic tone. Anyhow, I must say this is a great pickup, highly recommended.

  • The sound you've achieved has made me believe in this pickup. It'll go great with the Tone Zone S in my strat.

  • @Getzen919 Don't forget this is actually a Tele pickup, not Strat... It is very "stratty-sounding" but it's tele-neck-sized. I checked out your guitar videos and I think you already have a great tone! You might like Joe Barden Tele neck or Joe Barden S-Deluxe p/ups, they will both sound killer with the Tone Zone.

  • @moderncolin Since Teles and Strats have huge plastic pickguards, you can put whichever pickups you like it them... if you buy another pickguard or cut the one you have. Some teles are routed so as to only take tele pups. Others can take anything from a tele to a full size humbucker to even a p90. Again, since it has a pickguard covering the routes, You don't have to be a master craftsman to make another pickup fit.

  • can i use a tele pickup in a strat will it fit ? plz

  • Shoot, I meant to say my tele! Hah! Thanks for the suggestions, man.

  • It's pretty Strat-y, but sounds like it's got some Tele and P-90 in there too. I could work with this pickup.
