Such an inspiring video. Blind dogs are so sweet, I would love to teach one agility some day

What a wonderful pup Stevie is! You are each other's blessing.
My rescued Pomeranian is blind. She's the best behaved and obedient, dearest dog I've ever had. Most times I forget that she cannot see.

Esto es amor. ^ - ^

Excellent both of Stevie and you!! Well done! My dog Nono is blind. I enjoy training with her same as you. She passed the obedience training test (D.I.N.G.O. Master Handler Test) like Stevie. I feel that dog has unlimited possibilities!

i just rescued a born blind beagle lab mix along with her sister and they are doing so great!! the only thing im worried about is walking stairs with him, i just carry him down and up the stairs

Hello there.. I was looking to see if there was any videos regairding ONH ( Optic Nerve Hypoplasia ) and came across your wonderful dog!
My daughter has ONH as well and I find it rather intresting that and animal has the same condtion as my child.. as it is soooo very rare!
I also have a video up on her about her " Mackayla's Fight for Sight "
I wish you all the very best!!!

I watched your video and posted a comment there. Just wanted to reply here as well. Your daughter is an amazing little girl. I would love to bring him to visit her someday.

I have to ask,
are the judges a bit more lenient with scoring because Stevie is blind and he has to do things differently then a dog able to see?
I noticed that he nudges you a bit, almost like he is making sure of his posistion in relation to you. They would take off for the average dog doing that. I wouldn't take off if i was the judge

HI thanks for asking.Yes Stevie is given some exceptions to level the playing field. A sighted dog gets a verbal and a signal for "stay", Stevie gets a verbal and a light touch on the nose. I don't know if the judges take off anything when he bumps me. I think some don't and some do. His scores are all over the map so the bumping may be one thing that gets us. Some judges forget he's the blind dog and dock me for talking. :) If he does his best I'm happy regardless of the score.

This proves that dogs have unconditional love for their owner regardless of being able to see them or not. Michael Vick and his cohorts should die a painful death.

I agree, my little pitt mix I have, Harry, is the most loving little guy. I cannot imagine training him to hurt anything.
