What some of my colleagues in software development are forgetting is that for the user of an application, the application is defined by what they do with it.
To these people, their browser is Google, because that's the page they see when they open it. That's a frustrating attitude when you try to troubleshoot the mess they made, but that comes with the territory.
When you decided to become savvy about technology, you also ensured you would be surrounded by people who know less than you.
In this instance though it's almost inexcuseable. The majority of these people log in at least once a day to use these things. They should at least know the basic terminology which has been blinking in front of their faces for the past several decades.
Not all of us but imagine how sad it must make some of the people living here going through their days having to deal with some of these people and knowing that there is upwards of two hundred million more out there.
