You know you’re flying a Cessna when you have a bird strike and it is from behind!
-
Jesus Christ! At first I thought, well, was the plane flying backwards? Then the camera went to the front of the plane and I saw the windshield completely smashed! Lucky whoever piloted that Cessna was able to land after tha huge impact, I hope no one got injured!

@shithappens0710 Perhaps to let the air coming in through the busted windshield out thus lessening the drag.
-
@shithappens0710 It got "stucked"? sigh..
-
Entro y salio???
-
To get the air flowing through the "cockpit" and not act like a giant air brake when the wind....shield is gone..
-
bad luck...
i am currently a student in c172s
why did you open the doors?
thanks
-
Opening the doors allows more air to flow through the cockpit instead of creating the parachute effect its somewhat flowing through
-
I almost hit two geese today on the initial climb after take off

@shithappens0710 In preparation for an emergency landing one of the things you have to do is open the hatches, I think this is what fireFighterrock24 is talking about. Opening the hatches is vital in an emergency because you are most likely to land somewhere unsuitable, and if the airframe was to become damaged or warped, the hatches would be stuck open, not closed.

-
The bird was ok?
-
damn...that sucks!!! you're lucky
-
El C152 es de FlightCenter o me equivoco?
cual era, LV-ATE?
-
it helped reduce the drag in the plane because it was just air pumping in with no where to go. and a 152 only has about 110 hp. so yea
-
Que mal pedo!!!!!, el seguro paga no???? hahaha SALUDOS!
-
wow .... that was amazing O.o seeing as im also half spanish , Joder tio ! , eso era un impacto fuerte :O , espero que todo este vien haora :)
-
poor bird!

holy crap
I do not understand. Did this occur during flight?? If so, how come the bird did not get chopped by the prop? Also, if it occured during flight, why was the dead bird on the ground near the plane??

@glipaz it occured during flight, and the bird did get chopped by the prop, maybe it's not so evident in the footage but it happened that way. The bird was laying near the plane because it got stucked, so the plane landed with the bird almost inside.

Thanks for commenting. I wasn't in the plane, I was just documenting what happened.

i had a bird strike in a 150 wen i was a student....the thing took out the front windshild and landed in the back. i couldnt hold altitude due to the drag so i was looking 4 a place to land...i ended up opening the doors and i cold hold altitude at full power....but that shit sucks
