Bruce Jacobs responds to Phoenix Police Chief

On Thursday, August 21st, 2008, KFYI radio personality Bruce Jacobs engaged in a verbal attack on the character of Mrs. Julie Erfle, the widow of slain Phoenix Police Officer Nick Erfle. Officer Erfle paid the ultimate price when he was gunned down in the line of duty on September 18, 2007.


Today, August 25, 2008, at 4:00 P.M., City of Phoenix Public Safety Manager Jack Harris will be holding a press conference in response to the unwarranted attack on Mrs. Erfle. The news conference will be held in the Police Chief's conference room of the Main Police Station at 620 W. Washington.

Bruce Jacobs is a neoconservative talk radio show host on "NewsTalk 550" KFYI in Phoenix, Arizona. His shows airs Monday through Friday 5-8am, Arizona time. Additionally, Jacobs hosts a syndicated weekend sports talk show on Fox Sports Radio. Topics on The Bruce Jacobs Show, which almost always are colored by Jacobs' unique brand of comedy, usually consist of local politics and news stories, and occasionally sports.

Kudos to Mayor Phil Gordon and Jack Harris for boosting ratings for Bruce Jacobs in the morning. Everyone wins!

Any publicity is good publicity so Bruce is brilliant by pulling the Mayor's strings and causing him to have a press conference over little ole Bruce. How many people get press conferences over what they say? It's called TALK RADIO Mayor! If you can't stand the heat, get yo ass out tha kitchen, and don't bring widows of slain officers into the kitchen with you!

I don't know anything about this guy (randomly got to this video), but I respect that he separates people and makes it clear what he criticizes (Kennedy the political versus the human; a widow versus an advocate). I think this could be a good strategy for quelling hate in debate.

If my Son's were ever harmed, or ANY Loved one, as far as that goes, by an ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT, the LAST thing I would do, is take steps to see that it becomes easier for the same to happen in the future. Obviously, Ms. Erfle hasn't gone through her complete grieving process, and is NOT thinking clearly.

If -I- were to die by ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT, and my Loved ones pushed for amnesty?... I would haunt them to their dying breath.
