this guide will help you change your display on a netbook that does not allow you to use 1024x768.

text guide:
run: regedit
edit: find
find: display1_downscalingsupported then
enter
double click what it finds and change the value to 1
check all the boxes and select hexidecimal
repeat this proccess until all are on 1
close regedit
restart
DONE!

  • ok im the step where theres all kinds of files i click the 1 that is high leted and did what u said but it says cannot edit display1_downscalingsupported:­error writing the values new content
