This is the first out of four parts and features Hamlet's father's revelations, Hamlet's famous monologue (in it's entirety), the death of Polonius in the queen's chamber and more.
This is also the final version - I had to upload it several times in different formats because YouTube tends to mess up the audio. This one, h.264, worked pretty good, BUT turn down the bass slightly! Go into your EQ in the control panel or whatever and make it into something like 1-5-8, or you'll hear a somewhat disturbing low noise in the background in certain scenes during dialogue (especially Claudius). This was not in the original file - YouTube wrecked the audio, no matter what format.
This is an assignment we received for English class at school (we're from Stockholm, Sweden). It was delayed by three months, due to technical difficulties and a perfectionist director (dictator). We overdid the assignment extremely. It was supposed to be around five minutes in total - we transgressed the limit by more than half an hour.
It features the original script (some parts are altered however, such as having "France" replaced by "Normandy" to suit the Viking setting), and we took the best and most important scenes, but you might need to know the plot before watching in order to fully understand what's going on. There were only five actors so many characters look identical, however the Vikings were supposed to since I like to make fun of the stereotypic, homogenous Viking.
The movie was under production from June 9th to October 25th (during the last days I removed some minor audio disturbances), almost all video footage was recorded in front of a green wall in a school hallway (we were lucky) the first two weeks. After that I had to find images, sound effects and music and ask for permission use it all, which took a LOT of time. But people are generous and we only got rejected a couple of times. We also re-recorded all voices and synchronised everything, and removed small annoying disturbances and background noise that unfortunately occurred. The credits also took a lot more time than they were supposed to, but they look very professional (I studied some movie credits) and feature bloopers and commentary.
It was recorded with a Panasonic Lumix DMC FX-35 digital camera (except for the director's comments in the credits). Post production voice recording was recorded with a Koss SB/45 headset. It was exported as a 800x600 25 fps Sorenson Video 3 Quicktime Movie with 16 bit 44 KHz PCM audio, then converted to an 800x600 25 fps h.264 AVI with 16 bit 44.1 KHz audio in order to erase some of the noises.
