  • haha i am no one special and cant claim responsibility for collecting all this, i wasnt even born when any of this was made as im only 21, i just(with some luck) used the internet for whats its great for, finding things and found as much peter cook as i could get my hands on, i like you never thought i would see some of this untill not long ago. be better if i was peter cook incarnate i know, sorry.

  • There was only ONE episode of Peter Cook & Co. - but one hour long.

  • ok so i do have all of it then, thats a shame i was hoping there may be some more to find, wish i was old enough to have seen these on tv, nothing like it now.

  • Wow, what a rarity. Cook is GOD. Pity the laughter track is so loud and obtrusive.

  • I wasn't even born in 1980, but I definitely have memories of the "Tales Of The Much As We Expected" sketch from late 80s or early 90s, unless it was someone else copying it (I vividly remember Roald Dahl being enveloped by the fire). So perhaps it was repeated on a Channel 4 Peter Cook theme night, or maybe a clip was shown.

  • Do you think you could upload the whole thing?

  • The more I watch dear Cookie, the more I think that not only was Dudley a good foil, but that Peter could only find it in himself to act opposite him. Still, it's a narrow criticism of a genuine genius.

  • Apparently Cook could have done a series, but chose to go to America instead. Oh well. Am still hoping the 'Where Do I Sit?' episodes will emerge, perhaps from the Dead Sea.

  • SO glad someone posted this.

Peter Cook remains the greatest genius of television comedy EVER!

This show was probably the best comedy show ever.

And the Beryl Reid bumblebee / rastafarian sketch the absolute pinnacle!

That sweet-old-lady smile, those immortal lines:

"We worship the late Emperor Haile Salassi.

"... Mind you, after a few good tokes, I'd worship ANYTHING... HA! I remember I had a really good spliff of Hawaiian and I spent 3 weeks kneeling in front of a coat hanger."

  • priceless! beryl reid brilliant as ever. nice one.

  • Howdy - if you have all of it, could you post it? The bits that are up are the ones I've already seen. I'd really love to see the whole thing. Thanks!!!!!

  • this is great...the best... as a long time fan i have been trying to find stuff from an early review "beyond the fringe" esp the BOLLARD sketch

  • the roald dahl sketch is amazing. long live dereck & clive!
