DL has been putting beats together for musicians since he was twelve years old. Now, a decade later, DL has set out on a mission to create a positive flow of music. DL's style contains solid urban beats mixed with uplifting and/or fun lyrics. DL has worked for years to fight against child abuse, and worked with local community centers to help raped and abused women as well. This has a distinct influence on his musical style and rhymes. DL's style has been described as powerful, honest, motivational, and always as TRUTHFUL. DL's debut, The Awakening, is presented as mini-stories within one large storyline - every song is connected, and in a purposeful order. The album makes the listener delve deep into their own pasts and emotions, taking them through a journey of struggle, pain, and finally of overcoming seemingly impossible obstacles.
