Crysis 2 DX11 (HD6870 Crossfire)

Finally I can use all of the power of my PC in Crysis 2. Crossfire is scaling wonderfully and all the new DX11 Tessellation and High res Texture Pack is working well. I thought even with two HD6870's the game would be come a crawl, but it's pleasantly playable and very smooth. 80% it's over 60fps. so very happy. Before the patch dx9 was actually slower.

In the next month ATI should be releasing a New CAP profile which should allow crossfire set-ups to tessellate better, as the CCC has no effect over the performance. (the slider doesn't effect the game, so tessellation is stuck at 16x)

Also 11.7 Driver should be coming out soon. So hoping for driver enhancements.

1680x1050resolution. (I have three of them, but only use one for gaming).

Finally I would like to apologise for my awful game play. When I recorded, it put a cap rate of 30fps on fraps, and I'm not used to playing at 30fps.

11.8 Beta Drivers give a little extra push, about 10%.
Still waiting for the game to use the tessellation hardware of the HD6000 series, as it's going through the shader units. (which is the Nvidia tessellation route)

what are amd caps ? i have 2 hd6950 crossfire and have installed the latest driver but what are caps can you help explain them to me thanx

@subterraa Caps are Catalyst Application Settings. They are a Separate download that tells how the crossfire system to behave in games and programs. If you go to the AMD download page under the main catalysts download is the profiles. it should be called CAP2 or CAP4 etc... depending what version it is for that driver. Install them and then Restart your PC for them to take effect.

i cant run it like that and i have 2 6870 idk what to do it just use 50% of botch cards and what drivers are you using ?

@GameTester22 Right i've just tested it with 11.6 and cap3 and both my GPU's are at 100%. I had some trouble getting the directx11 to work first time. I reinstalled all my drivers from scratch and the game from scratch and then the patches. Make sure you use driver sweeper to get rid of old ati drivers.

Any micro-stuttering , im getting 2x 6870 soon just wondering if you experiencing any game lockups and freezing at all when any games ?

@GameTester22 When I did this I was running 11.6 and cap2. I'm now running on Cap3 I'll report on my gpu usage when I have some time.
