Chengdu J-20 Black Eagle (or "Firefang") is one of China's many 5th-generation stealth fighters (the others being the J-17, J-18, J-19, and J-21).

Most professional analysts agree that the J-20's performance is superior to that of the Sukhoi T-50 and on par with that of the F-22 Raptor.

The J-20 information has been mostly classified, but here is what we can see from the prototype:
- DSI intakes
- nose for AESA radar
- delta configuration
- canards
- full-moving stabilizers
- larger internal weapons bay than F-22 and T-50
- large internal fuel tank
- one piece cockpit

The J-20 is heavier and carries more payload and fuel than the F-22 Raptor and the Sukhoi T-50 PAK FA.

The Chengdu J-20 will make its first flight in January 2011 and will enter service in 2015.

China also has four other stealth fighters (J-17, J-18, J-19, and J-21) in development, and also including a stealthy JF-17 and stealthy JH-7B. JH-7B made its maiden flight in December 2010. That makes 7 stealthy projects in total.

COMPARABLE AIRCRAFT:
- F/A-XX
- F-22 Raptor
- J-17
- Sukhoi PAK FA T-50
- J-18
- F-35 Lightning II
- Xian JH-7B
- J-19
- J-21

  • I like here the fact that US is in deep shit. They thought that they are superior but now both China and Russia have stealth fighters. And for all thouse who write that J-20 is copy of F-22 go fuck yourself, J-20 is mix of experiences and designs of F-22, F-35, Su-47, MiG-1.44 and J-10. I would like to see this bird in serial production soon.

This video seems to contradict your theory. :-)

  • I thought Chengdu 20 means annihilator 20

  • @sukhoi235 actually, I don't think I've ever seen a video of the Ju-20 in flight without the use of American movies....The US is already deploying 5th generation stealth fighters while the next competitor is still a couple years behind. The US is still ahead and not in deep shit :P

  • @sukhoi235 pathetic... usa is working on stuff u dont even know exists

  • It doesn't look like the J-20 has thrust vectoring making it a glorified cruise missile instead of a traditional air-superiority fighter like the PAK-FA or the F-22.

  • @gunmaster613

    Yeah I saw that. :P

You just said that a firework is a type rocket, and that China invented fireworks. So you just fell into your own trap and admitted that China invented fireworks (which it did).

And if you really think that fireworks are actual military rockets are meant to kill people, then you seriously need some schooling.

  • @segregator236 OOooh several hundred meters impressive! hahah. And yeah, fireworks can kill people if you make em big enough and aim them at people! hahaha Just for shits and giggles I looked it up, 13 people on average die a year from fireworks, probably more people than were ever killed by these Chinese "rockets" hahhaa

  • @durhamdf

The "bamboo contraption" had a range of several hundred meters and is able to destroy a cavalry on one it.

    That's a rocket, genius.

Fireworks don't kill people. Rockets do. That's how we fought war back then.

  • @segregator236 I wouldn't call that bamboo contraption a rocket :) haahha That is like saying the guy who invented the blow dart is the original inventor of the gun. You basically had fireworks 2000 years before us, congratulations

  • @durhamdf

So you built a rocket in the 1950s. That's what we did 2000 years before.
