i have an 8330 and just bought a housing but noticed it was for 8300, 8310 and 8320. will it still fit on my 8330?
-
Hi, your tutorial is awesomely informative and detailed, I replaced my housing no problem, but now only my trackball works, the keys don't do anything, (not even the trackball when I click it like a key. Do you have any idea what I did wrong and how I can fix it? I followed your steps to the letter...

do u have to remove ur sims card while doing the swap

6 people took their blackberry apart and couldn't get it back together again.
What a great demo! Really grateful for the step by step guide, my 8320 now looks super cool in pearl white housing, thanks! Slight problem though, after putting it all back together it now seems that the backlight on keypad and roller ball is tempermental and only comes on if you tip phone on its front, not just when keys are pressed??? Should I just dismantle again and check keypad etc??

@cher0901
You could, but the lights on this model are actually part of the motherboard. They do run with the lcd, so I would check that connection first.

I bought some faceplates that have a thin white paper liner under the protective plastic on the inside of the lens. It doesn't cover the lens, only the area around the lens. There is a sticky adhesive under this white liner. Should the white liner be removed or left in place when re installing the faceplate. Thank you.

@whitebluff1
The white piece of paper is simular to the clear plastic liner that comes in our faceplate. It is covering the seal on the faceplate. The purpose is to keep the dust out from between the lens and lcd, so YES, you definitely want to remove the white paper so that you can seal it up. Let me know if you need anything else.
