We find ourselves devoid of good candidates to vote for and part of that is because we are allowing a small minority choose who we can vote for in November. It's time to understand this problem and fix it! This is part of the Political Common Sense for America series.

  • I also think a problem is that local elections aren't well publicized. I consider myself pretty well informed on what is going on, but there have been times where suddenly there is an election on a certain day that I had no idea was going to happen. I don't live in a "big" city, like L.A., Dallas, Nashville, Chicago, etc. My news does come from a big city. To be well informed here, you really need to go to the meetings. They are held at 5pm on Wed. here. Not everyone can do that. It's a problem.

  • @Carrie3570 I couldn't agree more...some of that is for practical reasons, but all too often the scheduling of meetings is intentionally done to prevent too many people from participating.

  • I've been down this delegate road at the district level. I applaud your efforts, the system is rigged.
