From the July 1986 video from the S.I.R. Sound Stage in LA, a DVD now discontinued according to Amazon. That is why I finally posted it, even though I've had it and Wolftrap for a while.

Tuning: B1F#2C#3F#3F#3F#3. See

See http://www.nomadland.com/ for information on Hedges and a fund for his children.

  • I keep discovering brilliant artists by happenstance because of the vast reach of the internet. Michael Hedges is a genius who died before his time, like Jeff Buckley. So often the great do die young. Savor his body of work, seven albums. Love it! Any others like him to check out?

  • me too i love carcass, death and slayer but i saw this guy drunk now i love his work when i would never listen to this kind of music...weird. guess its good to open your mind a bit

  • @MrFaulconbridge Without a doubt his odd tunings and the things he did with them made his sound what it is more than anything, But what Will Ackerman and Steven Miller introduced him to in the studio changed his ideas about production. I only wish Alex DeGrassi would do the same as I believe his live shows suffer from a lack of it. I'd pay good money to see Alex with the same production.

  • @togue777 You know his double CC or BB tuning he used? he gave that open in your face melody with songs like Ritual Dance...

  • You dont get a better or more intense tone than this. I love this version. His willingness to use a few digital effects in just the right manner created such incredable dynamic tension. Despite the fact that I'm a 3 cord willy, Ive always tried to mimic his tone , which of course I cant do but it has certainly had a very positive effect on the sound that I get.. type3 , thanks and please keep it comming.

  • @esaintboy72 yeah im a metalhead too but he is sso awesome

  • @MrTaylorN

He is definitely the innovator. Don Ross didn't get started really until the late 80's and Preston really only did the over the guitar technique. Michael made it what it is today, no one can do what he did

  • Thanks my brother!!! Good work of the guitarist! Excellent video and very good performance! It very beautiful music! Very well made song, and very nice voice!! Thank you a lot for sharing your nice video!
