This might seem too much like grammar class. Sorry! But the things in this video are quite important when learning Spanish. In this video lesson we're talking about nouns, definite articles and also we'll throw some classroom vocabulary in there.

Please be kind about my artistic endeavors in this video.

Enjoy!

Make sure to check out the next video on nouns, indefinite articles & class vocab.

  • Am I right in thinking the only way to tell the difference between Nada = nothing and nada = he/she/it swims is the context?

  • @androstempest

    Pretty much. ;-)

  • Do articles contract if the following noun is a vowel like as in French?

    Ex. La arbre becomes L'arbre

Does this happen in Spanish, too?

  • @Zoferiae

No. In some cases (agua, alma, águila, hada) where the word is feminine but the first sound is a stressed "a" sound... we use the article "el" to avoid the contraction even though the word is feminine..... el agua... but las aguas.... el alma... but el alma mía.... el águila... but el águila bonita... etc.

The contractions that do occur are with 'de' + 'el" and 'a' + 'el'

  • nice vid i'm in 7th grade and this is really what would help would if you did not say what hu it gets annoying

  • @tontitofrito Maybe he wanted to say that he doesn't like the comparison between Spanish and English. I don't have any other ideas...Maybe he wants to focus only on Spanish. BTW, I like the way you make videos.

  • "I'm going to aardvark you", you are informative AND funny.

  • Thanks Man! You helped me a ton to help me pass my spanish Exam! You explain it a lot better than my spanish teacher!

  • my mom forces me to watch this thanl god for new tabs (:

  • You can mention that Masculine words usually end in the letters LONERS (futbol, libro, jabon, pupitre, marcador, lunes) and feminine nouns usually end in DIonZA (ciudad, imaginacion, luz, silla). :)

  • Using this in my Spanish class to help out my kids! Thanks!

  • I'm Gonna Aardvark You! dB<
