My take on the Jimmy Page mod. 2 concentric pots with 2 4 way rotary switches. Each pup goes between series, parallel, split and out of phase.

  • What would bother me is that the Bluesbucker is ceramic. Which if you play neck p'up as rhythm and bridge as lead would be wierd.

  • @HandRpuffin It can be weird. Personally I don't have any hard and fast rules. For rhythm though, experience tends to have me gravitate to the middle position or the bridge. Though for leads I can go either way I've tended to favor the neck from time to time for things that I want thicker or rounder tones on, when I want edge, bridge is king.

  • if you like what you do then keep doing it

I'll keep out of the way because I don't like that sound that much

but if you like it, good for you man, keep it up

  • @Xidkwhat2callmyselfX More than fair, sir. I enjoy the tones I've been getting on tube amplifiers while feeling like I've put my spin on a classic mod that suits my purposes. The video is more about presenting the idea to people in the off chance that they don't quite like the standard Page mod either.

  • @seafooddynamite is the bluesbucker good for doing clean stuff like the interlude of master of puppets?

or fade to black other songs tht are like metal with clean parts,

im getting a d activator for my bridge and still loking for my neck pup

  • @andrewds98 Personally I love the Bluesbucker clean. In all wirings it offers a good sound and I'm sure you can get a tone out of it you'll dig for Metallica type things. It might not sound quite like an active pickup but it does sound great clean

  • how hard was it to wire up the concentric pots? I'm planning on installing these in my Jaguar special soon

  • Nice video. Your voice indeed resembles the generic black guy weather man adaptation of the "more pure Caucasian dialect", as southpark would have it. Well played sir.

  • I wouldn't do this exact mod to my guitar. I get the sounds I want without coil taps. But I like this guys ideas. People who do this stuff interest me sometimes. Right on man! Are peavy vipers any good?

  • you look a bit like robert plant 1:42

  • @seafooddynamite do you know anything about the dimarzio d activators and if these 2 pickups would be good together?
