  • Why aren't we listening to indigenous Afghan feminist movements and organizations, like RAWA?

  • Uh-huh. Yes, the war has really been great for Afghan women. Once you're dead, noone (not even the "Tälibäähn") can oppress you any more. In the meantime, domestic violence is through the roof and the "democratic" government is more than ready to sacrifice women's rights for opportunistic goals.

  • Someone like Solzhenitsyn, who blames Jews and non-Russians for every bad thing that happened to Russia in history hardly has any credibility with me. Especially one who adores the White movement. You don't know anything.

  • I obviously know more than you do, because you're still a self-declared communist. Anyone who has any familiarity at all with the history of your movement and still supports it is a depraved misanthrope. Go read Solzhenitsyn and learn something, you tragic little relic.

  • So much hot air from someone who knows so little. What was not modernizing about the PDPA regime? Read before you open your mouth. The Soviet Union was anything but feudal, it was an industrial and modern country. What the hell are you talking about Lenin using starvation as a weapon? He didn't set up a blockade of Russia's ports to starve th country into submission. No, that was the handy work of the US, UK, Japan, and Turkey.

  • What "modernizing regime" would that be? The Soviets were simply a continuation of the czarist feudal system, with the titles changed from "count" and "prince" to "commisar". Soviet subjects were just as oppressed under the apparatchiki as they had been under the nobility, except for Lenin's innovation of starvation as a tool of mass murder.

  • The host is even uglier then the mavis

  • The irony is that Feminist Majority and all the feminist groups supported the woman-hating Mujahideen butchers in Afghanistan against the Soviet Army, which fought on behalf of a modernizing regime the gave Afghan women equal rights to men. There was no support for the tens of thousands of Afghan militiawomen who fought to the death for their rights against the CIA's cutthroats. Feminists should deal with this first before shedding tears for Afghan women under the mullahs.
