I am a heavy metal fan, but dig all kinds of shit. I saw these guys on TV the other day and this song is fuckin' awesome. What an awesome band, they all compliment each other very well.

Did you know that Oklahoma was the reason Kevin wrote this song? Before this show, I talked with him and asked him how he wrote "Lower 48". He told me it started a long time ago when the Sooners beat LSU. He wasn't very happy about it, and he wrote "Oklahoma is a dirty red mean Native American slot machine". After that, he started writing verses for more and more states. By the way, I think he's forgiven Oklahoma, since they helped the Gourds get a big hit!
