Initially it may have been worth a shot, but they compounded their mistake keeping him after it didn't work out after the first two first round playoff losses. VC scored a lot but the offense got stagnant; he didn't fit the system well as he and Kidd weren't always in-sync as Kidd was with Jefferson and K-Mart.
