Herndon USNA 09 Class

The ending of the tradition herndon climb by the Naval Academy plebes. They must climb the monument, which is greased up with 200lbs of lard, take off a plebe hat (aka dixie cup) and replace it with the officer's hat. After this, they are plebes no more and become youngsters (sophomores)

That was My Son. Quite a moment in Navy History. Thankyou for posting this video. I was in the croud and saw what you did. I didn't know it was him until they walked him through the croud to get the plaque with a 3 Star Admiral's shoulder board. We spent the day letting all the other plebes/ now youngsters take pictures with the plaque. A fine Navy day. If anyone has more videos of this day, please post them. Thanks, Navy Dad.
