Good ideas!

Worm farms help reduce waste to land fill and the worms' good work helps keep the soil healthy!

The City of Encinitas looking to reduce amount of waste going to landfill made a one time offer to residents to purchase a worm farm at a discount.

Read Darwin's book on worms:

fascinating stuff!

  • Where'd you get a bin for 35 dollars? All the ones I'm looking at online that look like yours cost 75 minmum.

  • @JTuesday777 This was a long time ago. I'm not quite sure how he got it so cheap.

  • Worms actually eat the bacteria that makes it smell

  • @dimension1NSL I have read that their is not a human pathogen that can survive a worm's digestive track. Say good bye to e-coli? I have not done any further research on the matter.

  • @pleabargain I am going to give it a try.

  • @spafa9 Worm boxes are super easy to make. We have four going right now. Get a couple of nested trays maybe 10cm deep. Make sure one tray has lots of holes for drainage. Put some damp newspaper, some old salad like veggies, some dirt and some red wigglers. It's super easy to get a worm box going... just do some reading etc. Like I said, we've got four worms boxes going. One has been going strong for 3 years now. Total cost? 20 USD.

  • @pleabargain I wish I could find one so cheap. They are so expensive now. :(
