@jcnocks Actually, the war was about slavery. The South proudly said so when they started it. You should really read your own Cornerstone Speech and Mississippi, Texas, Georgia, and South Carolina declarations of secession. Your own declarations cited "slave" and "slavery" a whopping 82 times, but "states rights" not even once.

You should really read the confederacy's own Cornerstone Speech and Mississippi, Texas, and Georgia declarations of secession. They're all available online.
