They are ,corse they are
you need no extra knolege to phiscally fly something to fly a full sized aircraft you need knolege of the instroments to fly it safley and know how to talk to air trafic controle , but the flying part is no different , dont over correct the controles keep the moves small and smooth i would let anyone with a basic understanding of controle of a helicopter fly my model , i would even state that its more diffecult to drive a car than fly a plane
-
Number 1 . They are NOT toys
i trained a guy once who thought his plane was a toy
hes now only 3 finger on one hand
And secondly the amount of moves i correct on a stick of a model is 3 times more than a full sized aircraft , and 3 times as quick
so ide say model pilot have more skill than full sized pilots
thats before i have even mentioned that orientation changes when your on the ground
ive flown both models and full sized ... and models are by far more work
so meerrh

@RotorHead2652 I forgot that people that play with toy planes are pilots..... thanks for clearing that up.

Hey Tali Wheel Guy , do you have the Extended skids on that ship? If so , what do you think about the Talon skids now? They are 10" longer that 162F skids. ????????
-
@RotorHead2652 with only 1 hr in a full size aircraft..you are not a pilot, with just over 65hrs logged in C152, C172 and PA 28-181 and a post GFPT licence...I am a real student pilot
if you think that flying full sized aircraft is more challenging than flying a plane then i guess the feel of controle comes more naturally to me than others, like i said i have only had one hour in a full sized aircraft , but that was long enough for me to establish that flying aircraft is a peice of cake.
and it the attitude of people saying ''only a select few can fly airplanes'' boloks anyone can do just with the right training just like a car

@RotorHead2652 Lets review, I didn't say more challenging, just different. I didn't say "only a select few" so stop feeling insecure. Knowing how to read the instruments and talk on the radio is even less important than knowing how to spell. By the way, in helicopters, if the engine is not supplying power to the blades, it's an autorotation. If you autorotate to the ground it's a full down or if not to the ground, it's a power recovery. Stick with models, full size does require common sense.

@hotpilotboy20 .. Oh yes because you have to have a little slip of paper from the man to be classed as a pilot HA yeah right
i am a pilot son .. ive been round aircraft since i was 4 years old .. i dont need a peice of paper to tell me if i can fly or not
i just need my own brain , Excuse me brain .. see that plane .. can i fly that ?
why yess carl yes you can .... its as easy as that

@RotorHead2652
Thanks for the chuckles. I've flown RC airplanes for over 30-years and been a licensed pilot for over 25 with a flight instructor rating. Oh and yes I also fly RC helicopters with a Trex and Raptor. I would no more let an RC pilot go fly my full size airplane or helicopter (forget about legalities) than you would let some airplane or helicopter pilot fly your models. The result of both would be exactly the same. I love to fly full size and models, they just aren't the same.

@yellowrotorway, they are extended skids with the front hoop reversed and lowered about an inch. The Talon gear is wider and longer but is also taller. With the old gear, I'm able to get the helicopter through an 8' garage door.

that wasnt an auto rotation he had power to the blades the whole time

Mr. RotorHead,
No power to them there blades during the decent. You can hear when I bring in the throttle during the flare. The blades still make a lot of noise in autoration so it sounds like power is being supplied but the engine was at idle with the needles split. As I mentioned in the description, it's an example, just not a very good one.
