This is when voice assist wasn't even a thought.

  • You say it like it's some kind of an insult? He can STILL sing live, watch THIS IS IT.

It get's harder in tours because usually he's very tired.

  • @TheHardwareGeek an insult? did u watch the video? insulting him is futile because his greatness is so obvious. it's useless to deny or make a case against his greatness dude. there is no other pop singer who can sing live with that level of fluidity. no one. especially nowadays when everyone is using voice assist. he got older and he wasn't exactly the healthiest person so he started singing voice assist too. but when he was still singing live, man... it was an honor just to watch

  • @jermane1020 Whats voice assist?

  • @1THETRUTH10 a voice assist is a pre-recorded voice of the singer. their own voice serves as 2nd voice. so when they sing live and, for example, they are short of breath, they can stop singing and people can still hear their voice. many singers use it (i think Pink does not use voice assist and Madonna).

  • Great talent and showman......where did it all go wrong

  • @Chon123100 I agree with EVERYTHING you said. I felt the same way. To me, he had too much talent to do the whole lights and staging, even though I would have enjoyed watching the "This Is It" concert live. His vocals live on the Bad Tour and Victory sounds EXACTLY on the record. Hes always in the right key, even when dancing. I will always love this concert, more than his future ones.

  • he was sooo hot here

  • @Mikelovision Exactly. I'm a big MJ fan, but he did use pre-recorded vocals AND the original vocals from his albums. LaryngitisIt or not, it is what it is. Doesn't take away from his sucess or talent, but most of his History tour songs & even some of the Dangerous tour was not live. I would prefer to hear a great show live than all the lights & staging. History was ok, but I'd prefer the Bad tour or the Jacksons tours, Victory, Triumph even Destiny. He did sound pretty good on This Is It though

  • For all of you Michael Jackson extremist, Michael DID use a pre recording of his voice on every tour AFTER the bad tour (because he danced more), whether you like it or not. The title is not disrespecting Michael Jackson in any way, it was simply highlighting a time when Michael Jackson SUNG everything live with no pre-recorded voices. It's the equivalent to saying, "Back when Michael Jordan was in his prime."

  • He sang live in tours and concerts AFTER this, you know.

  • @TheHardwareGeek

I just can agree! I must say, that he had a bad laryngitis in the HIStory era. It was nearly unpossible to sing live. You can hear at HIStory Tour concerts how he fight with his voice. In 2009, his voice was ready to sing live and you can hear the result in This is It!

  • beautiful

  • @TheHardwareGeek and Michael had to sing and dance about 2 hours, so.. :D

  • I love Black Michael jackson. That's how he was when I frist watched he dancing and singing.. It's when I just 4 years oldd. And it makes me remember all the rest of my life
