Revenue raising??? The speed / red light camera is CLEARLY marked so if you get caught, is just shows that you have blatant disregard for other peoples safely. Plus this is a speed restricted area NOT an open highway due to the fuel station and truck stop plus a major intersection. I am against points however it is now that "mummy or daddy" or the rich pricks dont pay the fine and pay it off and people who continually do stupid crap get away with it.

I know what happened . .
Jumped in the 4x4 after being at the pub all afternoon. Upon driving along, realised that he hadn't read the NT News paper at smoko. Opened it up and saw another crocodile story. So excited about seeing the article about some naked idiots on a croc trap, he had to masturbate while calling the missus on the mobile explaining why he was going to be late home.
Still, pretty sad to see people do this and other stupid things each and every day on our roads.

Decreasing speeds caused more accidents over a year then having a higher speed on.
The NT use to have no speed cameras, no speed limit on open roads, no POINT system and death toll was still pretty shocking. (thanks Claire)
Now we have Both and the Death toll has increased by a stupid amount and most of it has been caused by stupid driving or DUI.
I Vote we increase driver awareness, driver Education and not Revenue raising.
NT Speed cameras are just a money printer.
