That is very straight idea. Kids cant understand classic book which do not have interest within. Almost all teachers do not undersand it, they only push school program to children and that is all.
That is biggest problem of our world, of education.

Number one, never had a textbook on postmodernism. Number 2 I am a huge comic book fan and maybe I can see Ditko (who did more in his non popular work btw) but as much I love Stan Lee and Jack Kirby it was not a legitimate medium... not to the point that Moore took it too. In fact the negative stereotype of comic books are the Lee/Kirby. Spiegelman's Maus was the same era as Moore btw... and was a while before it was considered relevant...

Really. Will Eisner, Art Spiegelman, and even (gasp) Steve Ditko, Stan Lee, and Jack Kirby. Plenty more to find. But first, you will have to put down your textbooks on postmodernism and get a clue.

Steve I have to disagree with you about comics... It's different than it was years ago. Some stuff is very beautiful...

The comic book was a legitimate medium before Moore? Really? If it was it barely was.

I'm aware, I was just giving examples.

I think in terms of foreign language learning, comic books are a good way to begin before moving to more difficult literature. For one, it's simple, and secondly a lot of comics have natural speech (save for superhero themed ones yet still).
So you get some good natural sounding sentences in small chunks with some pictures to help you along if you don't quite "get it". Good for beginners I feel.

There's a fine line between enjoying a well written story (regardless of the medium) and being a comic-addicted aspy.
