@cardude1992 It's all in the gear ratios. Historically, italian cars have always been built with shorter range gear ratios, to help boost lower range torque. This results in faster acceleration and faster revving. The main drawback is top speed is reduced unless they use more gears which then increases the weight of the car and so on. This can be found on Italian cars, to this day, such as Alfa's who still achieve massive performance from their smaller engines and short gear ratios.
