When saw the giant cucumber, all I could think of was..."Hi, my name's Larry and some day I'm going to star in VeggieTales!"

I lived on Baker Road and always shopped at Farmer Jack w/the family. Nostalgia rush! :)))

Me and my dad were actually there at its 1994 grand opening in VA Beach! It was a lot of fun for a seven year old. :-)

Oh my God, you just transported me to my childhood! The bright colors! The singing vegetables and cold cuts! This was probably my favorite grocery store of all time. They actually tried to make food shopping a fun, festive experience. I remember their "cookie club" where kids could get a free cookie [I really took advantage of that, LOL]. I was kinda sad when they closed down in my neighborhood in Virginia Beach and a Food Lion took its place.

I found this quote.
"THE FARMER GOES EAST

It was a chilly and windy day in Virginia Beach, Va., when A&P opened the doors of its first Farmer Jack store in the East."
from an excerpt of an article.
I guess A&P did own this store. I didn't realize that.
