Updated version of the Time to Change video, this one now has photos of a few of the people involved mixed in.
Following on from the launch this year of the national TV and press campaign, a group of local musicians have got together to record their song, Time to Change. With its message highlighting the stigma and discrimination faced by people with mental health issues, Jamie Harris and Friends hope their music will help the wider public gain a better understanding of the difficulties people face, when trying to live and work whilst experiencing illness and distress.
The musicians are a mix of well known professionals and mental health service users from Hastings and Rother. First time producer Jamie Harris captures the chorus of Leonie, Sara, Leita, Ann, James and Andrew singing out, Dont you think its time to change! adding his own lead vocals, electric guitar and drums, with Roger Carey on bass guitar, Phil Hudson on electric guitars, and Rob Leakes laid back tenor sax solo.
The song was recorded at The Rooms studio in St Leonards during April and May with the wizardry of Rob the Engineer at the decks. The song was penned by Andrew Voyce, who says: We all think its terrific, but we would, wouldnt we?
