Minotaur - Half beast, half human monster well known for its expert use of a viciously heavy mace.

Abase - To humiliate or degrade.
Aberration - A deviation of an organism from the state which is regarded as normal.
Abhor - To detest vehemently, find repugnant.
Abjuration - Solemn repudiation, abandonment, or renunciation by or upon oath. (Possibly a misprint of Aberration.)
Accord - Agreement, concurrence of opinion.
Acolyte - Follower or attendant.
Addle-Pated - Confused or muddled (Pated - of the head).
Advent - An arrival or coming. One which is awaited.
Alchemy - the forerunner of modern chemistry, which centred around attempts to convert ordinary metals into gold, and to discover a universal remedy for illness.
Ambrosia - Mythical food of the gods said to bestow immortality, any food with a particularly delightful taste.
Anon - Immediately.
Apothecary - The Medieval equivalent of a pharmacist.
Atone - To make amends for a wrongdoing, crime or sin.
Atrium - A central hall in a public space often several storeys high and usually with a domed roof.
Aught - Anything
Bacchus - Roman name for the Greek god of wine and intoxication Dionysus. (Usually a reference to wine itself.)
Base - Devoid of honour, contemptible.
Bazaar - A permanent merchandising area.
Bestiary - A medieval compendium of beasts.
Boar-Spear - A special type of spear, relatively short and heavy with two "lugs" or "wings" behind the blade.
Bouquet - a bunch of flowers arranged in an artistic way
Brood - All the offspring in one family. A group of a particular kind.
Cache - A hiding place where treasures are kept.
Cataclysm - A terrible, usually natural disaster.
Cede - To transfer or surrender something.
Chantry - A place to sing Mass.
Chattel - A medieval term for personal property, a noble could also refer to his non-noble dependants as chattel.
Chiliad - A period of one thousand years.
Chortle - A gleeful chuckle.
Churl - A medieval term used to denote a peasant who was disrespectful of the higher social classes.
Clairvoyance - The power to see things beyond normal human senses.
Codex - A volume of ancient manuscripts.
Convent - A building inhabited by a religious community, usually nuns.
Covenant - Binding agreement.
Cull - A term for something that is selected from a group.
Cur - A vicious dog, a despicable person.
Diablerie - Sorcery; black magic; witchcraft.
Dovecote - A building that housed pigeons, which were used as a food source in medieval Europe.
Draught - A portion of liquid to be drunk as medicine.
Drub - To defeat utterly or beat with a stick.
Escapeway - A passage designed for the purpose of escape or through which escape is possible.
Escutcheon - A heraldic shield displaying a coat of arms.
Eventide - Evening. (even - the period immediately before an event, tide - turning point).
Faerie Circle - A naturally occurring ring of mushrooms.
Fain - Indicates an action done willingly or a person who is willing to undertake a particular action.
Fallen Knight - A knight with no honour who is now no more than a criminal.
Fare - To get on, cope with.
Fast - Firmly fixed or secure (fastened).
Fathom - To penetrate a mystery.
Fell - Something that is destructive or deadly.
Fenland - A certain type of wetland created by groundwater close to the surface.
Fete - A French term for a festival or holiday, in English it often refers to particularly lavish and exclusive parties.
Fodder - Bulk feed for livestock.
Footpad - A sneaky thief, pick-pocket or purse snatcher.
Foray - Short raid or incursion.
