@garyfalconberry Yeah I have read and seen a great deal about it. When I first saw it show up at my tackle dealer, My first impression was that it was some sort of novelty deal or joke thing. I have never thrown it. Not opposed to it. I'm a Larry Nixon old school guy. I'd rather fish a worm top water or crank bait, Guess thats why I'm simply an ok stick. But I'm not paying the bills with it.. Best to you in your fishing.
@NOC1TIME Its an umbrella rig. Granted its a new application but its a 75+ year old technique. I agreed with you until the tournaments here lately that have been won on it. It just won the BASS Weekend Series event in Arkansas last weekend and the top competitors threw it. Also won Shasta in FLW earlier this year. I dread a tournament season where i throw mostly one rig. People that think it wont work pre and post spawn are fooling themselves. Certain parts of the country itll b tuff 2 beat.
Get rid of it in tournaments, leave it to the fun fisherman. I would rather see tournaments with multiple patterns than a bunch of people throwing the same multi rig harness for 3 or 4 days straight. Well said 1munford, if it raises this many concerns it needs to be left out of tournament fishing.
This should NOT be legal in tournaments. The argument to leave it to the state laws is silly if we go by that standard then we should allow livebait, multiple rods and trolling. WE DONT allow those things. Another reason why not,its is the only thing that could possibly hook 5 bass at one time.Nothing else can do that not even a 3 trebled spook. So come on have some skill and pride in your sport.I went out and threw one yesterday I caught a bunch and it was way too easy, leave it out of tournament.
@NOC1TIME I see BASS has came out an outlawed it. On the Elite Series. I say leave it to the states to decide. One has to have a state lic anyway which clearly indicate the regulations for that state. Inch. or slot limits. Hook & line. no dynamite etc lol..If Texas says yes and Florida syas no. Well you simply leave it at home when fishing Florida as an example. No real reason for anyone else to weigh in on the matter. They' just don't like that Paul thinks outside the box once in a while. ;)
The knock on it,Is that it's pretty much a comercial fish rig. However as it applies to competitive freshwater bass fishing. Its has an application zone like anything else. It's not like its an unfair advantage. Fall situations. or some suspending conditions. Some fishermen will have better success than others. If multi hooks or baits is the concern.lets get rid of trailer hooks on our spinners and buzz baits. That Bamma rig is nothing more than the bigest thinking outside the box rig out there
tournament fishing no fun fishing sure as long as its limited to 4 hooks theres as much as 10 hooks being used on this rig even kvd said hes seen at least 10 on it so for me yes and a no for more reasons then that
Needs to be banned!!
