An artist of the highest caliber. Her tone and control of such is absolutely wonderful. She knew what she was doing and did it superbly. I am happy to be esperiencing this. I have such respect for this great woman. And her tempo and breath control. How exquisitely she holds that beautiful note at the end. Such a master. Bel canto par excellence.

@piax00 She is definitely one of the all time greats! She still sings today! What a career she has given us to cherish! Actually Freni is only 2 yrs younger so I guess you can say they were in the same era! She is a gorgeous lyric soprano but MC is the more versatile singer. Love them all but sad to say that there are not an abundance of talented singers in the current age as there were in yesteryears. Maybe our perception has changed.

@domi2020 Please, Caballe is a cut above Freni and Fleming. She is the last of the golden age sopranos with Tebaldi, Callas, Olivero etc. She was the next generation after them, still having the same classic disposition, a bel canto approach. She was from a different time with different sensibilities. Kiri is fantastic, but the times she was in was so different

Thank you for posting this. I use this for an example for my voice students. The technique and connection is perfect. She is probably my favorite soprano ever!

She was still "serious" here.... After the mid '70's, as with so many of her "coleagues" (3 tenors [???] etc. etc), it all turned into a circus of which we are still suffering the consequences.

I tend to agree. The technique is miraculous. Kind and warm regards,
