Please send the letter at http://www.out-raged.org/speak/full/mormonaction/ to your Congressional Representatives and Senators and demand that they work with the IRS to investigate the Mormon Church's abuse of their tax status by supporting political campaigns, like Proposition 8, which stripped millions of Californians of their equal rights.

  • Well, it looks like everybody commented on this one over a year ago, so whatever. ;)

*I* believe that, at the very least, the Mormon Church *and* the Catholic Church should be required to be COMPLETELY transparent about any and all of their financial activities relating directly to the political process. It is my HOPE that IF they really "knew what they were doing," then the Constitution would certainly protect THEM, also, right? But, then again, that's one big, hellacious ***IF***.

  • False.

  • Everyone has the right to vote their religious or moral veiw. A church should never get involved this way. They could loose their tax exempt status if they start shoveling money into a vote. It didn't have to happen this way and the LDS church was wrong by the way they went about it.

  • Not to fear gay people, but to realize that gender, and the dynamics it produces, affect children.

  • African Americans voted overwhelmingly Yes on Prop 8. Yet you don't picket or intimidate them.

Why is that, are you afraid to be called RACIST?

  • Barack Obama also symbolize NO to Gay Marriage. Obama said, "It is irresposible to not consider Gay Marriage as a Moral issue." The CA Supreme Court was wrong to legislate from the bench on Moral issues... but it is just like the CA Supreme Court to do so. That is why the people took action to trump the wreckless decision by the court to amend the Constitution and to remind the court that their job is to interpret and not legislate. BTW... churches are allowed to stand up for morality.
