  • He blows away every violinist today...he's not only an amazing viruoso, but also a great musician!! That's the key to Kavakos. His playing has matured over the years, like a fine port, it's only getting better!

  • my favourite beethoven interpretation too...love kavako!

  • Γειά σου Λεωνίδα Καβάκο που κρατάς πάντα Θερμοπύλες χωρίς να πέφτεις...! :-)

  • @pastrocchio90 he is right. kavakos does have some spotty intonation in places, there are a few violinists with better intonation. but it doesn't mean he's not a great violinist and a mind-blowing technician regardless

  • excellent violinist, but terrible orchestra

  • IIIrd movement is bundle of nervous energy

  • Thus he changes the volume of the sound of the note and this is a vibrato of the volume of the sound,a vibrato that oscillates the volume of the sound rather that a vibrato that oscillates the hight of the note, the normal vibrato.

  • Well there is portato,a kind of vibrato of the bow, when you have some notes in one bow ,kind of legato, and you separate them a little bit in order to make them sound more clear by lifting the pressure of the bow in each note and then again when the other note comes press again. But the vibrato i mean Kavakos does is that when he has a single note in one bow he swings the bow like making an ocsillation or making a curved movement of the bow.

  • What? The vibrato of the bow? Please explain.

  • THis vibrato of the bow,the right hand,of Kavakos is very excelent. He does this the last years not in the beginning of his carrer.THis vibrato is very special and caracteristic of Kavakos nowdays playing.Very beautifully made.
