Eric Leocadio, Founder/Executive Director of the Catalyst Network of Communities, shares a moment about how each of us can follow Harvey Milk's call to "come out" by living our lives openly and by investing the next year in building relationship with 2 or 3 people who are different than ourselves. In getting to know each other, we change each other.
This was part of an art exhibit and opening commemorating Harvey Milk featuring artwork by the youth from The Center Long Beach's MYTE program, the AMP organization, and contributions from numerous community partners.
Catalyst was one among many collaborating partners in putting on the event including Councilmember Robert Garcia, 1st District, Exhibit [A] Gallery, Downtown Long Beach Associates, The AMP Org, Long Beach Lesbian & Gay Pride, Inc., City of Long Beach Human Dignity Program and Human Relations Commission, Long Beach Labor-LGBTQ Alliance, The California Conference for Equality & Justice, Long Beach Lambda Democratic Club, and Stonewall Democratic Club. Supported in part by Arts Council for Long Beach and the City of Long Beach and Long Beach Lambda Democratic Club.
